The Don't Go Hungry Diet!
It seems that dieting and being hungry always go hand-in-hand. But you'll no doubt change your thinking about that issue once you have read 'The Don't Go Hungry Diet' book.
If you have ever dieted, you know only too well that one of the downsides is that you actually spend a lot of time thinking about food. And what 'goodies' you are missing out on!
And when you do eventually break your diet – because the hunger and deprivation just become too much to bear – you soon revert back to your old 'bad eating' habits, and unfortunately, the kilos start stacking on again.
So a little bit further down the track, you repeat the whole process again by starting yet another diet, and so the frustrating cycle continues.
But thanks to the knowledge and advice that is contained in 'The Don't Go Hungry Diet' book, you can revolutionize both the way that you look at food and manage your weight.
Written by Dr Amanda Sainsbury-Salis, PhD, the book is solidly based around scientifically based techniques for losing weight and keeping it off forever.
Dr Amanda, an internationally renowned molecular scientist, lectures to medical professionals from all around the world about the science of weight regulation.
But she is not a person who simply presents interesting theories about losing weight.
She personally has lost close to 30 kilograms by following her own advice. And most importantly, she has now successfully managed to keep that weight off for more than nine years.
Once you start reading 'The Don't Go Hungry Diet' book, I can guarantee that you will find it hard to put down.
That's because it introduces you to an evolutionary approach to weight loss in which Dr Amanda reveals why most diets fail and how, by following her advice, you can lose weight without ever having to go hungry.
It sounds too good to be true but it isn't! I myself have lost more than 7 kilos and I've just finished reading the book. I firmly believe that I can reach my target weight by continuing to follow the techniques revealed in this book.
'The Don't Go Hungry Diet' book is divided into four major parts.
In the opening part of her book, Dr Amanda explains how she discovered her amazing, and unique, ideas about how to lose weight.
This is also the part of the book where you learn about two essential weight management concepts, with the first one being the 'famine reaction' (which underlies why conventional dieting doesn't work), and the second concept being the 'fat brake' (it is this 'brake' that Dr Amanda considers to be the real secret of losing weight and keeping it off).
In the second part of the book, the science behind the 'Don't Go Hungry' approach to weight loss is introduced and explored in depth.
Don't be put off by the reference to science. This is a very readable book – not dry at all, and as you make your way through it, you will discover that, if you take the time to learn how to listen to your body, you will never have to count fat, kilojoules or carbs, or weigh or obsess about food, ever again. That's exciting news for anyone who is currently depressed about ever losing those unwanted kilos.
The second part of the book also contains a section titled 'Frequently asked questions and common concerns' where you will find the answers to such questions as 'how fast will I lose weight using your method?'; 'Help! I gained a kilo in a week'; 'I'm really struggling to lose the last 5 kilos. What do you recommend?' and 'Is there anything I can't eat while following the Don't Go Hungry Diet?' [the short answer is no but you will have to read the book for a full explanation!]
The third part of 'The Don't Go Hungry Diet' book consists of a collection of sample menus while the fourth, and last part of the book, is made up of recipes that have been sorted into the following categories: breakfast, light meals, mains and sweet and savoury snacks.
If you, or anyone that you know, is currently trying to lose weight, I wholeheartedly recommend this book as being essential dietary reading.
