Critical Choices

Unfortunately life doesn't come with a 'road map' or a 'manual' that shows each and everyone of us how to make the best decisions that ultimately affect our lives in major ways.

But despite that, one thing that we can all do is to learn from is the successful life choices that others have made.

And then to proactively use those other people's experiences as a basis for working out what might be right for us, in whatever circumstances we might currently find ourselves facing.

One highly effective way of doing that is to read the inspiring book titled 'Critical Choices That Change Lives: How Heroes Turn Tragedy Into Triumph'.

Reading this book has the power to change your life for the better.

That's because this particular book looks into the lives of some of the most influential people who have ever lived, and examines the critical choices that they made at key points in their lives.

Take, for example, Walt Disney.

'Critical Choices That Change Lives: How Heroes Turn Tragedy Into Triumph' explains how Walt, after being burned financially by one of the leading film studios of the time, recovered professionally by developing a philosophy of 'never again working for anybody else'.

And as a direct consequence of making that critical choice, Walt went on to create one of the most beloved cartoon characters of all time, namely, Mickey Mouse!

Here's another example from the book.

To millions of people around the world, Julio Iglesias is an international music superstar.

'Critical Choices That Change Lives: How Heroes Turn Tragedy Into Triumph' reports that Julio has 'achieved over 2,600 platinum and gold record certifications and has sold over two hundred million records' globally.

However, few people know that, as a young man, Julio's ambition was to go in an entirely different direction – that of being a professional soccer player!

In fact, he achieved his ambition by becoming a goalkeeper for a professional soccer team called 'Real Madrid'.

But his sporting career was tragically cut short due to a near fatal car accident that, according to 'Critical Choices That Change Lives: How Heroes Turn Tragedy Into Triumph', left him 'partially paralyzed and unable to walk for almost two years'.

To help him with his therapy, a family friend gave him an old guitar.

The book then goes on to explain how the critical choices that Julio subsequently made after that accident led him to develop a passion for music, and which, ultimately, paved the way for a stellar career in that field.

Just a few other examples of people whose critical choices are put under the spotlight in the book are Julius Caesar, Lance Armstrong, Colonel Sanders, J.K. Rowling, Thomas Edison, Christopher Reeve, Billy Joel, and Soichiro Honda.

All of the stories in the book are inspiring.

Indeed, they represent the sort of material that make ideal reading if you are presently facing difficulties and problems in your own life.

Daniel R. Castro, the author of 'Critical Choices That Change Lives: How Heroes Turn Tragedy Into Triumph', spent ten years researching his book.

What makes this particular book so unique is that, as a result of that extensive research, Daniel has been able to decipher a number of key factors that 'underpin' the critical choices that heroes typically make.

For instance, Daniel explains that one of the secrets is 'how heroes answer these three critical questions':

1. 'What are you focusing on?'

2. 'What do you believe?'

3. 'What are you expecting?'

To whet your appetite to read the book, here's a small sampling of its chapter titles (there are seventeen chapters in total):

• 'The Decision Behind the Decision'

• 'It's How You See, Not What You See'

• 'When Heroes are Between a Rock and a Hard Place'

• 'Heroes Do More Than Just Face Their Fears'

• 'Heroes Harvest Their Hidden Gifts'

So if you've been struggling along on your own for awhile, then maybe now is the time to recruit some help.

My recommended way of getting that help is to read through the stories and insights that are provided for you in 'Critical Choices That Change Lives: How Heroes Turn Tragedy Into Triumph'.

Once you've read the book, then re-read it again whilst simultaneously starting to take active steps to achieve the life that you want.

And while you're doing that, keep the following advice from the book's author uppermost in your mind:

'You are not limited by the experiences of your past. You do not have to stay where you are, but you do have to make a choice to accept this principle: If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. Do you really believe this? What is the world waiting for you to imagine? What is the world waiting for you to achieve? If you don't do it, it may never get done. You owe it not only to yourself, but to the world. This may be your life's calling'.

In attempting to restructure your life, I strongly believe that the first critical choice that you have to make is whether or not you're willing to buy a copy of this book.

But once you've purchased it, and most importantly, started to read it, you will be well on your way to acquiring the confidence and the wherewithal to answer all the critical questions that will undoubtedly 'crop up' on your life's journey!
